This was a nice project for the Potawatomi Inn Restaurant inside of Pokagon State Park in Angola Indiana. We made this cashier counter and base unit using our own special concrete mix for the countertop and oak hardwood and veneer plywood for the base unit. The cashier counter is colored with black and brown pigment in the concrete to give it  nice deep brown tone and with the edge profile being our very popular tree bark technique, this top is very fitting for its location in all of Pokagon’s nature.

Jan,(restaurant manager) gave me a sketch of  the base design and we took it from there and made just what she asked for. The base unit was designed to fit all the needs of this busy restaurant from custom fit cash drawer area to adjustable shelving and pull out drawer for computer hardware with easy serviceability. Special angled shelves for receipts were made for better organization. The color of the stain was important to match the surrounding oak trim work so we came in with a few different color stains and made sure we were hitting the color tones accurately.  On the outside of this base Jan wanted to be able to have nic nac items for sale like coffee mugs with logo and such, so we made adjustable shelves  and put nice lighting under the counter overhang to light up display items nicely. All in all, this project turned out very nice and will be in service for a very long time.  I look forward to working with Them on future planned projects.
