Here are a few of the projects that Clauss Designs has done.


Custom Bonfire ring cap
Custom bonfire ring cap with cool features like our tree bark edge technique and the beautiful acid stain colors that create unique color movement for this cool evening entertaining feature  Closup of this fire pit ring cap. The color movement of the acid stain is really something to be seen up close. The tree bark edge is also a cool feature. With the utilization of acid and water-dye stains, we can create color tones that are very real as well. Fun outdoor entertaining area
Full view of this entertaining area we teamed up with an area landscape company on. See preceeding pictures for some fun details - like glow in the dark stone right in the top!  The Island section, for bar stool height entertaining. We worked with the client at templating time and allowed them to have influence on the vein layout we put into the project. This allowed them to play a part in how they wanted to see the vein layout jump from the pillar caps to the island then onto the grill cooking counter. Fun stuff, when you consider the vein is full of glow in the dark stone exposed so in the evening, it looks like a river of glow stones. The dark tones of the main portion are acid stain tones which give alot of beautiful color movement and with the tree bark edge technique we have on here, really makes for a unique countertop option.  Another full view picture of this fun outdoor entertaining area. A river of glow stones jumps from the pillar caps, over onto the island top, then onto the grill counter. The vein area was polished to expose the glow stone that was placed there so in the evening after a day of sun on them, the vein areas look like a river of glowing stone. We have all sorts of fun things we can incorporate into your indoor or outdoor project. From Fiber Optic lighting right into the tops or various color techniques, to yes, glowing stone aggregate, we can make it a conversation piece in your home or business setting!  


Unique Fireplace
Front view of this unique fireplace surround we designed for this client. Full surround from mantel to hearth is a faux finish of concrete that mimicks the stairway walls very nicely and the mantel and hearth are concrete with a tree bark finish on edges to blend with the island project we did. You can see that island project from the  Close-up of the mantel's tree bark edge finish. The color tones on mantel and hearth go very nicely with the steel and surround soft yellow tone faux finish we did. Very happy with how this piece turned out. Edge technique is to mimick tree bark, without to rough of a texture, for ease of cleaning, and the tops are buttery smooth with a high gloss finish to enjoy for years to come. This was a cool project that really gave character to the living room area!  Nice closup to see some of the details we have on this unique fireplace. With the back surround section of creamy yellow tones of concrete having the iron work infront of and the mantel and hearth having the bark edge technique and color tones really gives this fireplace a beautiful look. It was truly a pleasure to work with this blacksmith and create this fireplace design. We have alot of options in turning your new or old and dated fireplace into a beatiful addition to your decor for enjoyment - Let's Talk!  


One of a kind lake house
Here is a full view of kitchen and wet bar in this beautiful new lake home. With features that you will never see in another home, truly one of a kind! You may view preceding pictures for more information on what we have done for this project in more detail.  This was such an enjoyable project. Really allowed us to let our creative juices flow! Here we have the kitchen island seating side that has a lake scene carved into a panel of concrete. We wont share our secrets on how we did it, but this is a scene of the grandfather fishing on the pier with his grandson, who is reeling in a big one, along with grandmother at right in distance in her favorite paddleboat with neighbors dog. The backdrop has a tree line that has the texture of tree and leaves right into surface along with a beautiful sunset casting colorful shadow onto lake. This was done using there view of the lake as a reference. All this is wrapped at each end with custom made curved tree ends that finish into the cabinetry very clean and give it that one of a kind look. Fun stuff right here. Definitely lends for good conversation starters while entertaining!  Another view of the island seating side. Back scene of tree line with realistic detail and sunset throwing off a beautiful reflection onto the water. Color of concrete kitchen countertops is our brown and bronze technique and this has a touch of black stone throughout. Polished finish is buttery smooth and protected with our sealer that allows you to feel the concrete and has a very good stain and heat resistance.  Here is a close up of the inset decorative steel from a piece of the custom iron railing that was built for this house. Undermount black sink with corner shelf for decorative items and plants. All the faucet fixtures were placed to fit client's most comfortable working pattern. Color of these kitchen counters is brown and bronze with a touch of black stone exposed throughout. Our finishes are polished with diamond pads up to 3000 grit and buffed with special polishing pads to give it a buttery feel that you just would not expect you could get from concrete. This is not your ordinary concrete here, it is a special mix designed for high quality/highend use. Give us a call and we can share details about our product that will get you feeling very comfortable about using for your next project!  Here is the wetbar off side from the kitchen and living room area. This homes design is very open for entertaining, with some really fun and beautiful features you will not ever see in another home! View the pictures of the railing, and you will see what we mean. For this pic though, this has a integral bar sink and the color is jet black with stainless steel shavings exposed in surface along with--- GET THIS--- GLOW IN THE DARK STONE! You heard it, this bar top has glow stones exposed in surface so while entertaining late into the evening- it puts off a cool- blue glow that will make you think you had one too many! Again, this is fun stuff that you will only find with Clauss Designs- We love creating talking pieces!  This is a iron railing that my  Another view of Joel Sandersons work. Outdoor Entertaining at the Lake
Here is an outdoor mini entertaing/kitchen design we can do for those of you who enjoy lake life! Front lower panel has a slalom skier silhouette with water spray that has fiber optic lighting that shimmers with light to mimick the light off the spray! Backdrop has sunset and tree line to create a beautiful scene! Other cool features are - Fire feature right in the countertop! Glow in the dark stones in the counter surface that glow in the evening!Sunshade design for a modern look. Stainless steel shavings and crystal glass in the titanium white counter surface for a way to cool look. These are just a few of the unique designs we can create for you to enjoy with your family and friends!  Side view of outdoor entertaining area. This design features a Big Green Egg smoker/grill.Along with Slalom Skier in front panel with sunset scene/fiber optic lighting in water spray. Barrel Sink for Restaurant
A unique barrel sink design in our showroom for business clients such as a restaurant to view. With trash drop slots in each end, and cool slot style sink drain along with the beautiful acid stain tones in this piece make it a unique option that will give your business setting a high end feel. We have many options in creating a vanity top for your bathroom needs, to create the look and feel you just cannot get from other material options.  


Small End Table With Business Features
A cool little endtable we gifted Phillips Steel in Coldwater MI with. They cut a couple of water-jet picture shapes for us and made a little table with this elephant cutout. Polished perfectly smooth so you cannot tell where the elephant ends and the concrete begins! With the business card and pencil holders, we can create features like this that will organize your reception counter or whatever your needs may be, we have many solutions for usability and visual appeal.  Full view of this neat little end table with a water jet elephant feature right in the surface of the top. Also we incorporated a businesscard and pen/pencil holder for advertising your handout information with style! We have many ways to create organization and service friendly countertops with features like these and many more.

Mac Daddy outdoor entertaining area
Getting things all laid out for an awesome outdoor entertaining area that features custom single post style sun shade/ acid stained tops with a built in fire feature right in countertop. Also we designed a grilling center that features usable accessories that make cooking out efficient and enjoyable. Take a look at the finished pictures. This is a one of a kind entertaining area!  Full view of grilling cabinet center. We designed this hole project, and designed items into this grilling center that would make things efficient and a treat to use when entertaining. Items like the frigerator for your favorite beverages, with a tilt out trash door for easy trash containment, along with a 3 drawer unit with upper drawer tilt out paper towel holder and two storage drawers underneith, all on quality ball bearing drawer slides. Under grill cabinet doors for plenty of storage underneith. An infared grill to top it off, and you have one fun grilling center!  Back of grilling cabinet to show our tree bark texture affect. This is designed into all counter edging as well.  closeup of edge technique. Many people say it looks like tree bark. Flames are a beautiful blue & Yellow color and can be adjusted to different intensities by the twist of a valve. Very unique. Unique Backsplash Kitchen
Here is an acid stained kitchen with exposed stone surface - polished to a buttery smooth finish. Client wanted to create her own unique backsplash shape. This is one way we can make your project- your style.  Sink-view  Here is one of our edge techniques called a horizontal broken edge. This project, we did a bronzing technique on edge to give it a unique look.  This view shows how our templating process pays off every time. We take great care in templating exact details that will make the end product fit like a glove.  Close up of edge profile along with exposed stone finish.  


Modern Kitchen
Close up of island to show the subtle veining throughout the counter. Also, on this project, worked with an area steel fabricator to make these stainless steel custom bar top brackets.  Titanium White 2-1/2  Undermount sink counter. We kept the thickness throughout the sink cutout area to give it a bold meaty look. Underside of counters are hollowed out,so weight is not an issue here on all counters.  Side counter picture. All edges on counters are a pencil edge. just rounded enough for a smooth feel, yet keeping that contemporary crisp edge look.  Another angle of Titanium White counters with stainless steel shavings and crystal glass exposed in surface.  


Entertaining Bar Top
Full view picture of an entertaining bar area that has features like a custom wood bark edge profile/ a lake recession inlay with their home location lighted using a fiber optic light and glow in the dark stone/ acid stain wash with a vein separation that makes this top a real talking piece. Projects like this are what really show the capabilities of using concrete from Clauss Designs.  Closeup of the lake recession inlay which we positioned to be the same as the view you have sitting at bar looking out their large wall of windows at the lake. It also has a fiber optic light that locates the house. Notice the closeup of the edge profile as well to see how the texture and colors create a visual appearance that you just could not find in any other material choice.  Closeup of edge profile to show how colors and texture mimicks that of bark of a tree. Also view the steel support legs that have a bronze finish technique that was applied in the sealer to create swirl and variation to also mimick that of the wall sconces that are in the decor.  Closeup of the veining technique that was done along with the lake recession inlay that matches the position that is seen from sitting at the bar looking out the window. Las Limas Cashier Counter & Base
Full view of a Cashier Counter we did for a local Mexican Restaurant. With features like the custom logo inlay with a picture of a lime and juice spray along with name and 3 limes above. Also has details such as the toothpick holder/ two brochure holders/ a coin dish and that is just the details on the counter! Fun projects like this will really set you apart from your competition in an impactful way.  Close up of the lime and restaurant name logo inlay. With sitting down and discussing your needs and wants, we can incorporate almost anything into our concrete medium.  Clos-up of tooth pick holder. Notice that we designed the toothpicks to lay horizontal rather than vertical so there was not a poke hazard. Works well to accomodate toothpicks in a plastic wrapper.  


Project Help Counters
Pass through counter for food area in our new local Project Help Building.  Another view of pass through counterop. Business reception/office desks
Just finishing up with installation of Aardark Sign Company's new office desk and reception desk. Here I am giving Josh, (owner of Aardvark Signs)a well deserved handshake. We put this lighting right into the bottom of the countertop and put it on a set and forget timer, for no hassle use.  Here is Maria's new reception desk unit. Just installed it and she is already hard at work! Front panel will have a logo of Aardvark signs. Soft white concrete window sills. Durable and will last a lifetime. Clauss Designs uses our own scratch mix design of concrete that is referred to as  Closeup of window sill fit and finish. Trim has yet to go over notched detail. Our process allows for a very high degree of fit and finish accuracy.  One of two window sills for residential project

Watkins Project
Contemporary bathroom with stainless steel faucet/bowl along with steel bearings in surface of countertop. Light reflects bearings nicely for an almost fiber optic look. Just one way to make your home unique to your taste.  Vanity top with various steel bearings exposed in a slate gray tone. Made for a real modern feel with color tones off the cabinetry. The surface is buttery smooth, with an anti- microbial protected sealer that actually becomes part of the concrete. This allows you to  


Boswell bar top
A close up of how we can personalize your project to fit your lifestyle. Here we inlaid a wine label that is the owners last name as well as a picture of grapes on a vine. Makes for a real talking piece. Not to mention the other details, like hidden rope lighting under the front area along with multi colored top with a vein between the two and a nice drip edge in case that bottle of wine gets nocked over.  Bar top with special features like: 1.Inlay of a wine label that is the clients last name along with a picture of vine ripened grapes. 2.Hidden lighting underneith front edge. 3.Custom drip edge for outer perimeter. 4.Multi colored top with vein breaking through the two colors. Features like these can turn an ordinary project into a real talking piece that will give you enjoyment for years to come!  Another close up of wine label along with drip edge detail.  


Display Counter for area cabinet company
This custom top for an area cabinet maker showroom has three different edge profles along with two seperate inlays in surface. One is of 3 sea shells that are epoxied in and perfectly smooth to the touch. the second are two geode stones, one in the top corner and the other is on the edge. This top is marbled with 4 concrete colors followed up with 4 different staining colors creating a unique effect. It resembles the visual effect of polished petrified wood. Bistro Table
Here is a unique bistro table where we used 1 inch steel pipe to make all the support legs and foot rest along with the table support arms. They were cast into the center concrete column. A real industrial flare that fit well into the clients decor.
Here we made a bistro table with an industrial flare. Using 1  View of bistro table along with office table that was partially suspended by cables from the ceiling. This office definitely is a one of a kind!  


Office Desk for Enzyme Consultants
A very unique office desk. One end sits on a custom made concrete cabinet with bamboo drawers and the other end is supported by cables from the ceiling! A concrete column is placed in the outer portion of curve for added support.Check out the individual pictures for more detail information.
Here is a unique idea the client had for his office desk. One end is supported by a custom made concrete cabinet that has bamboo pull out drawers while the other end is supported by cable from the ceiling. A middle round concrete column is in place for added stability. The overall length of the top is just under 12 feet from corner to corner. Client also wanted all the corners to look broken, so we designed that right into the mold. HAVE A CUSTOM IDEA? WE CAN MAKE IT HAPPEN AND GIVE YOU A REAL ONE OF A KIND PIECE.  Close up of how we made the corners look broken. Sea Shore Vanity Top
A two basin top that has sea shells and star fish inlayed into the surface, then filled with epoxy and polished down smooth. Our sealer then applied to protect and bring out the color of all the stone in the mix design. This counter is a real talking piece and a fits the clients lake life living.

You can design anything from the constellations to your business logo or name!  Fiber optics can make an ordinary top into a real talking piece! From outdoor kitchen/bar areas to indoor and even resturant bars are a great place to incorporate this unique feature.  Fiber Optics, really stand out in dark areas such as outdoor bars and resturant bars. You can change the color wheel from white lights/single colored lights/ or the rainbow of colors at the same time. A unique feature that lets you stand out in a fun way!  


Home & Garden Show display

Clauss Designs can give you a finish that is not only baby back smooth, with two sealer options, either one is as close to maintenance free as it gets.  Here on this Display Top, I designed an inlay for a mock cooktop stove to cover the fruit bowl and magnet feature.  Here is my booth at the Fort Wayne 2008 Home & Garden Show. It was a great success and people who have only seen concrete on T.V. got their chance to feel what a quality concrete product feels like from Clauss Designs!

Here we designed an outdoor bartop/gilling area with a built in Ducane grill and plenty of counterspace for barstools and to converse with people enjoying the tub.

Living room concete countertop
Concrete countertops aren't just for the kitchen! Here in the living room, it adds a beauty and an elegance enjoyed by the whole family.
Charcoal gray color with exposed aggregate. Homeowners favorite beer bottles were broken up and added to the mix for a unique amber glass chip effect. These counters were poured and processed in place.  Plenty of countertop space with a nice arc design for bar stools.  View of curve for bar stool area. By creating this overhang, allowed for alot more entertaining options in this little lake home.  


Curvey Kitchen
Charcoal color with exposed aggregate counters with smooth curves to match ceiling soffit pattern exactly. Seams around sink were designed with swirving curves for a uniqe look also.
Here you can notice the curve in the counters matches the soffit curve. Makes for a stylish affect.  Peninsula with charcoal color and exposed aggregate counters with a glass bar top.  Another view of peninsula.
